致读者信

  新年伊始，喀麦隆学者塞勒斯汀·孟加的《非洲的生活哲学》由我和沈晓雷、贾丁和许明杰翻译出版。孟加先生是喀麦隆人，现任联合国工业发展组织总干事，此前任世界银行高级副行长兼首席经济学家高级经济顾问时曾与林毅夫教授共事，也曾作为访问学者任教于北京大学，其著作被翻译成多国文字。毅夫教授与我们中心关系密切，两年前怡然同意担任《中国非洲研究评论》学术委员会的成员。他最先委托北大出版社联系我。我当时尽管很忙，仍欣然应允。本来是友人之间帮忙的事，却在翻译过程中受益匪浅。我学习非洲历史已有36年，读过不少关于非洲的书。然而，孟加先生的这本书给了我新知识，使我对非洲、非洲人和非洲文化有了新理解。感受最深的是作者对非洲的热爱。作者的描述都是用日常生活的琐事作为例证，读起来平常中透着哲理，热爱交织着愤怒，非洲文化与西方文化互相渗透，表现出孟加先生广博的文化底蕴与深厚的人文主义精神。希望读者从书中可以看到一个真实的非洲（详见http://www.bookdao.com/book/2549192/）。

中心活动
•1月，由中心学术委员会委员林毅夫教授推荐的喀麦隆学者孟加的著作《非洲的生活哲学》（Nihilism and Negritude）由李安山、沈晓雷、贾丁和许明杰翻译，北京大学出版社2016年出版 (详见http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_af42f0430102w2vg.html)。

•1月6日，巴西非洲研究中心（Brazilian Centre of African Studies，CEBRAFRICA)主任Analúcia Danilevicz Pereira致函李安山教授，希望与北大非洲研究中心建立伙伴关系。

•1月10日，中心副主任赵白生教授主持“第十届世界文学年度报告”，作“非洲文学年度报告”的主题发言并提出“未来史”的概念，颇受关注。中心成员刘海方、周慕红以及来自国内外的一百多位学生和学者与会。

•1月15日，中心特邀研究员、中国非洲史研究会副会长杨立华研究员代表非洲史研究会参加由中国社会科学院世界历史所召开的“2016年加强学术社团建设工作会议”并发言，全国世界史相关各研究会（学会）负责人与会，非洲史研究会副会长兼秘书长毕健康也与会发言。
