Teferra Shiawl- Kidanekal大使是IAR高级研究机构的创始人之一，他现在任该机构的高级顾问，这个机构位于埃塞俄比亚的斯亚贝巴。他曾担任南苏丹IGAD和平进程的负责人，并是协调小组的高级顾问。他曾任联合国南非东开普敦省的选举专员，联合国人道主义预警项目的负责人，联合国在非盟和联合国非洲经济委员会的高级人权代表，世界反种族主义大会的发言人，中非地区人权的全权代表，联合国伊拉克项目战略规范的负责人，非盟在苏丹共和国人权问题全权代表等。
Teferra Shiawl- Kidanekal同时担任埃塞红十字的总干事，曾任驻伯恩高级外交代表，驻柏林、捷克、斯洛伐克和匈牙利的大使和埃塞俄比亚外交部通讯处主任。
Teferra Shiawl- Kidanekal大使在德国、美国和英国分别获得了法律和政治学的学位，他现在在埃塞俄比亚公务大学（Ethiopian Civil Service University）外交和国际关系学院教授外交学。
Ambassador Teferra Shiawl- Kidanekal is one of the founding Members of the Institute for Advanced Research IARand currently Senior Advisor of its successor institution the Centre for Dialogue,Research and Cooperation based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He has served as the Chief ofStaff of the IGAD Peace Process for South Sudan and as Senior Advisor to the MediationTeam. His former work included positions as United Nations Electoral Commissioner inEastern Cape, South Africa, Head of Humanitarian Early Warning of the UN in NewYork, Senior UN Humanitarian Representative to the African Union and to the UNECA,Senior Communications Advisor to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights andspokesperson of the World Conference Against Racism, Director and Regional HumanRights Envoy for Central Africa, Strategic Planning Head of the United Nations Missionin Iraq, Director of the East African Standby Force Coordination Mechanism in Nairobi,and AU Humanitarian Envoy to the Republic of Sudan. Ambassador Teferra Shiawl-Kidanekal also served as Secretary General of the Ethiopian Red Cross, as the rankingdiplomat in Bonn, Ethiopian Ambassador in Berlin, the Czech Republic, Slovakia andHungary and as Director General of Communications of the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry.
He holds graduate degrees in Law and Diplomas in Political Science, and Journalismfrom Germany, US and UK respectively. He currently teaches diplomatic practices at theCollege of Diplomacy and International Relations in the Ethiopian Civil ServiceUniversity.

随后，Abdeta先生开始在美国芝加哥西北大学攻读政治学博士。在学习研究的同时，他担任伊加特的参谋长负责南苏丹事务的协调，并通过监督和评估联合委员会来监督南苏丹协议的落实。目前，他是对话、研究和合作中心的执行主任。
Presenter Introduction:
Abdeta’s professional experience begins with his employment at Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1992. This experience included service as desk officer for Somalia and Ethiopia’s neighboring states, as Head of the Ethiopian Trade office in Hargeisa, Republic of Somaliland (April 2002-June 2006), Chief of the Cabinet, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (July 2006-August2008), Ethiopia’s Special Envoy to Somalia (August 2008-March 2009), and Head of the Conflict Early Warning and Response Unit (April 2009-November 2010), and Director General for African Affairs until 2012.
Then he began his studies at Northwestern University, Chicago, USAfor a PHD in political science. While working on his research, the author served as Chief of Staff of the IGAD-led Mediation Team for the Republic of South Sudan and briefly for the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission to oversee the Agreement to Resolve the Conflict in South Sudan. He is currently the Executive Director of the Centre for Dialogue, Research and Cooperation.
