WANG Suolao is an Associate Professor and director of Center for Middle Eastern Studies in School of International Studies, Peking University of China. He received a B.A. in History fromNorthwestern University in 1985, a M.A. in Afro-Asian History from Peking University in 1989 and a Ph.D. in International Politics from Peking University in 2000. He has been a faculty member of Peking University since 1989, and went to pursue further studies in Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Dar El-Ulum in Cairo University of Egypt, 1992-1994. He also did research works as visiting scholar in Department of Islamic & Middle Eastern Studies, Faculty of the Humanities, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, 2001-2002; and in Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Leiden University of the Netherlands, 2007-2008. He can speak English as well as Arabic, teaching courses include International Relations in the Middle EastPolitics and Diplomacy in the Middle EastContemporary Relations between China and the Middle East. Currently he is an executive member of China's Association for Middle Eastern Studies, member of China's Association for Afro-Asian Studies and member of China's Association for African History.
